Biscuit Wars

Biscuit Wars

Biscuit Wars is an upcoming comic, written and illustrated by Jordan Tyler-Love. The second comic in the Fractured Fables series, although this project had been in production for over 4 years, as Jordan is very fond of cookies, the case of the project was originally supposed to be a featurette, back in 2019, but due to creative differences, the project had been put on hold. In 2022, Jordan had decided to start doing original projects, due to creative differences.
Production
Inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the story centers on the two leading cookies, Matilda and Matthias (pronounced Ma-thigh-us), a rich tea and a digestive biscuit who cross boundaries at first sight. But what they do not know is that their fathers, Cap'n Rich (a rich tea captain) and Kap'n Krunchie (a digestive captain), and their tribes of the biscuit races. Other inhabitants include their dogs, Tybalt (a custard cream-like dog creature), Jimdom (a jammy dodger-like dog creature), and Reverend (a Marie biscuit).
Summary
Story is about the two captains squabbling over which land is theirs, Cap'n Rich stows on board Rich's boat, Matilda and Matthias look closer towards one another - love at first sight! The royal children flee for the next island, under their boundary line, the captains are at war with each other, as the children rest on their island. Once they return, the royal children settle their dispute towards their father, and they get married.

Meet the Characters
Matthias Tyrone "Matty" Krunchie, Jr. is the male lead protagonist. He is the 14-year-old Digestive son of Kap'n Krunchie, who is very athletic, smart, talented and a bit of a showoff, but he means well, although he disapproves of his father's method and hatred towards Cap'n Rich and his tribe. But he is not afraid of standing up to his father. He loves Matilda very much, and would risk his life for her, such as escaping his father's boat without warning. But, overall, he is a kind and decent young man.

Outside the story: Matthias likes to play shuffle bourbon, as his favourite game. He is the Krunchie tribe's football and baseball star. He likes chocolate eggs as his favourite. He has a phobia of human hands.

Matthias is named after Matthias Mouse from the Nelvana series, Redwall, and his voice actor, Tyrone Savage.

Lady Matilda Mara Richtea, II is the leading lady and deuteragonist. She is the 15-year-old Rich tea daughter of Cap'n Rich. She is a ditsy, attractive, bubbly, sensitive, intelligent young lady, who has a way of going out of her way, if nothing suits her, but the only things she hates is trying to amount to make her father happy, which very much backfires, as he is very cold-hearted towards his daughter. But once, she has had enough, she is not afraid to confront her father, or anyone who threatens her. She is beautiful on the inside, but can very feisty, yet hardcore on the outside. However, she is very emotional, especially when not being able to see her man in crunchy beefcakes.

Outside the story: She is a spoiled rich girl, which would explain the amount of shoes, dresses, lipstick, eye shadow, and clothes. In fact, she is a shopaholic. She is a cheerleader for her tribe's school. Her ethnicity descends from that of a McVitie's rich tea biscuit in real life. She likes to eat boiled eggs. Her favourite human, she would like to be eaten is Hannah Waddington. Her father is British, and although she never knew her mother, quite possibly because she passed away a few months after she was born, she was descended from American commoners.

She is named after the book character by Roald Dahl, Matilda, and the original actress, Mara Wilson. Jordan has Flycheese staff member, Nat Goldson to thank for the inspiration. Hailee Steinfeld's Juliet is the main Juliet inspiration for Matilda.

Kaptain Matthias Abbott "Kap'n" Krunchie, Sr. (nee O'Shea) is the main antagonist. He is the 45-year-old Irish-accented, no-nonsense, power-hungry, arrogant, strict, boisterous, yet careless father of Matthias. He is very cruel towards his son. He has a passion to take over the Rich Tea's land. He is that notorious, he is not allowed to be a pirate. He has a strong bond towards his employees, the Merry Men, than his own son.

His rivalry towards the Rich Teas have dated back to when he and Cap'n Rich were young boys. Their fathers, and their fathers before them, and so on, have always been at war with each other. But there have been really intense times where his rivalry gets him and his tribe in trouble, or better yet, in a grave danger.

But there have been times where he and his son are at an agreement, but it does not last for long. His prize possessions are his pet dog-like jammy dodger creature, Jimdom, whom he also treats better than his son.

But once he understands his son is very protective towards the girl he loves, he becomes reconciled and very considerate, thus is very jolly.

Outside the story: His favourite hobby is making ships in bottles, boat racing, and he lost his wife, when Matthias was three years old, thus being a single father was hard for him, and he became so upset, he had become so ruthless.
Captain Richard Everton "Rich" Richtea, IV, Esq. is the secondary antagonist. He is the 45-year-old British rich tea captain, whose personality is trigger-happy, immature, obnoxious, intimidating, ruthless and stuffy, which makes him just as bad as his main rival.

His servants are the Blue Richtea sailors, the equivalent to Krunchie's Merry Men, and are all very loyal to him. He is very unsupportive of his daughter's wishes, as he shows a lot of discipline and very little sympathy for her. For example, he makes his daughter cry every time he thinks she is an embarrassment to his family upbringing and fellow Richtea tribe.

But at some times, deep down, he loves his daughter very much, as she shows him, albeit, softly, she shows him that Matthias is the one true love. At the wedding, he and Krunchie apologize, hug and have a drink and laugh to a toast to their children's wedding.

His pet Tybalt is his most prized possession, a custard-cream dog, who in turn like in the original Romeo and Juliet story, dies after an argument. Not much is known about him. He is based on Spot from Rolie Polie Olie and Bandit from Jonny Quest, to a lesser extent. His barks are an impression of the late former Canadian voice actor, Robert Smith. A minor antagonist, if you will.

Outside the story: Rich is a huge cruise fan, which is why he likes sailing from island to island for his family, his crew and tribe to settle in, which explains his dispute with Krunchie. He is also a flour fan, as he uses it for his birthday every year, since he was 6. He and his daughter like to play mini-egg tennis, after he finishes his shift. His favourite drinks are vanilla and banana milk drinks. He lost his wife, when his daughter was a few months old, but since his war days, unlike Krunchie, he had since gotten over it.

Supporting/minor characters include:

The Merry Men:

- Friar: an elderly digestive with a green professor's hat who is the royal advisor and commandant.
- Chancellor: a brown-bearded, moustachioed, middle-aged digestive, who is the first mate and second-in-command.
- Carl "Blondell": not named, but he is the youngest sailor in the Merry Men, a blonde chocolate haired digestive.
- Tobias (Pascual): not named, but the long, black-haired member of the group.
- Ernie: not named, the ginger haired digestive member of the group.

Jimdom - the Jammy dodger-like dog creature who is Kap'n Krunchie's most prized pet, unlike Tybalt, is more aggressive, but is very loving towards his master.

Cap'n Rich's Aide - the leader of the Blue Richtea sailors, and the most prominent henchman in the story. Not much is known about him or his fellow sailors. The others, although not named in the story, one of them is called Joshua James (two names).

Maitre'D - there is at least one waiter on each boat, both are French, one digestive (on Krunchie's boat) and one rich tea (on Rich's boat).

Reverend Marlon Hatefill - is the islands' longest serving minister and a Marie biscuit. Not much is known is about him, except that he is essentially and literally a parody of The Simpsons' local minister, Reverend Lovejoy, which explains he is a reference, thus modelled after. He is just referred to as "Reverend" in the comics.

Other digestives include various citizens and tribe members of the digestives, such as a posh man, a milk chocolate guest, his wife, etc.

Other Rich teas include various citizens and tribe members of the Richtea tribe, such as, a dating couple named Michelle and Mark, a Texan richtea, etc.

References
"But, Daddy, I love him!" the line that Princess Matilda says is a nod to the quote remarked famously by Ariel from the 1989 original Disney classic, The Little Mermaid.

Tybalt is a nod and literal reference to the original rival of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.

Matthias is a reference to Matthias Mouse from the Nelvana series, Redwall.

Matilda and Mara, the first two names of the leading lady, are an homage famously resemenent of the 1996 original movie, and its former child star, Mara Wilson.

Kap'n Krunchie is a reference to both the cereal and character, Cap'n Crunch, however, is mored referred to the crumbly texture of digestives and the famous Cadbury chocolate bar, Crunchie, hence the name changed from a C to a K. His Irish accent is a reference to stereotypical leprechauns and Irish folklore in general, and an impression of both Brendan Gleeson and Liam Neeson.

Cap'n Rich is a reference to Captain Pugwash and Edward Teach (Blackbeard) and his name Rich is literally because he is wealthy, hence why living up to his name. His British accent is a cross between Dan Stevens, Tom Hiddleston and Luke Evans.

Matthias' voice is an impression, crossed with Tom Holland's American accent, and Michael Cera, however his personality is based on Aladdin himself, but is not officially partial to Scott Weinger.

Matilda's voice is partially based on Canadian voice actress, Stephanie Anne Mills, and two of her main characters: Vana Glamma from Sidekick, Lindsay and Kitty from Total Drama and Kirsten (a clone) from 6teen, however, her personality is based on Zoey from Total Drama and Jasmine from Aladdin, albeit not officially modeled after Linda Larkin.

Milkybar Caviar and Mini Egg Caviar are references to the Easter candy, however, they are animals, coloured fish, if you will, who live under the chocolate river. The caviar is served all year round, including the Christmas season, unlike the real-life candy, is only sold during the Easter period.

Matthias does a big yell in the style of Tarzan.

Shuffle Bourbons are a reference to the cruise ship game, the shuffleboard, and are made from bourbon creams. Bourbons are the only biscuits that are not sentient, anthropomorphic, but are inanimate.

The only biscuits that are animals are Custard Creams and Jammy Dodgers, whom of which are dogs. Other animals, not referred to in the storybook, are gingerbread animals, animal crackers and Skittles (bugs) and Smarties (frogs for green, zebras for brown, horses for purple, etc.) and chocolate chip cookies (cats, large cookies are leopards and tigers).

"Why, that little!" the line of which Kap'n Krunch says, is a reference to one of Homer Simpson's catchphrases, "Why, you little!" directly from The Simpsons.

"In the name of Annie Potts, please, just end the war!" the line of Matthias, is a reference to Annie Potts, star of Toy Story and Young Sheldon. Jordan had thought of this, during a conversation he had with former Flycheese supervisor, Tommy Grant. After the fight is terminated, one of Rich's cronies ask who she is.

Originally, Matilda was going to say "I Yabba-Dabba-Doo!", but in the final script, she and Matthias had just said it as normal, due to copyright from Warner Bros.

How The Story Idea Came to Fruition
The idea first came to Jordan in 2015, originally a parody of 2015 Disney-Pixar movie, Inside Out. This was during Jordan's respite years, even though he had doubts, during college.

In 2022, it was officially in production, as Jordan had pitched his comic idea to Wallace, Zach and Emily as early as November, once his recent comic, Kool Ladd #2, had been complete.

All of these biscuits are based on British cookies, except for the Reverend, who is a European/Indo-Asian cookie (Marie Biscuit), and the cookie cannonball, a regular, old-fashioned chocolate chip cookie.

These anthropomorphic cookies are very high in sugar, fat and calories, like real-life, regular biscuits.

The islands and rivers are not specifically located, but the local island and the sea is likely located in the Channel Islands, towards the Isle of Man or Brittany, France.

Matthias, Matilda, the Merry Men, and most members of each tribe, speak in like a typical regular American/Canadian accent, Kap'n Krunchie speaks in an Irish accent, the Maitre'Ds are all French, and Cap'n Rich, who comes from royalty, speaks in an upper-class British accent, or in this case, the Queen's English. Basically, a cross-country palette, if you will.

Post production-wise, Jordan had thought of a few spin-offs, most particularly, a comedy project, named Cookie and Donut, which would have come to fruition. Also, a prequel is in the works, and a direct sequel, rather than a stand-alone, is also in the works, where 15 years later, Matthias and Matilda, have three beautiful children, who set off to find the wonders of the human, especially their hands and mouth.

Overall, a great story to look forward. You'll want to have milk and oreos every time you read this! Tee-hee!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate this.
