Little Red Kitty Hood

Little Red Kitty Hood

Little Red Kitty Hood is an upcoming comic book created by Jordan Tyler-Love. It is based on the classic tale Red Riding Hood, and was inspired by the 1952 Merrie Melodies short Little Red Rodent Hood. It is also intended to be the first story in J.T. Love Industries' Fractured Fables series.

A Grandmother cat is telling her grandson a bedtime story, and so tells the story of Little Red Riding Hood (with the mouse as Riding Hood), and his visit to Grandma's House, unaware that the wolf (the bulldog) is watching him.

Production

How Jordan came up with the idea, Jordan had watched the Friz Freleng cartoons Little Red Rodent Hood and Red Riding Hoodwinked so many times, he wanted to make his own remake of the classic Looney Tunes shorts, in comics. So, during the pandemic, he had came up with the script. It wasn't until June 2021, that Jordan had decided to have it come forward.

For the development of the kitten and his grandmother, this was the hardest. The bulldog is not named, but is given a villainous personality. This was never stated in the comic, as Jordan had thought these were one-time characters.

The story itself, though rewritten, is basically a 1/3 portion of Warren Foster's story, although some of the lines at the beginning and end of the story, for instance, as Grandmother Cat gets Tinny ready for bed, this counts as the B-story. The rest of the story is rewritten by Jordan, to prevent copyright infringement.

Tinny, however is a name, only used for this story.

Meet the Characters

Little Red Kitty Hood is the 5-year-old alter-ego of the kitten, and is the protagonist. She is the bulldog's foil, is extremely gullible, yet naive, and has the brains of a special kid, yet she is proven to be very skilled, as she can use tools to defeat her foes. Her personality is based on Tweety, as she has a speech impediment.

The Bulldog is the main antagonist in the story. Loosely based on the Big Bad Wolf, he is extremely based on Spike from Tom and Jerry, however, has more of a villainous personality, and utters most of Jimmy Durante's lines. Though not clearly Spike, Jordan had not quite fully developed the characteristics of the dog. Originally, like Kitty, he was only supposed to be a one-time character.

Grandmother Cat is the Grandmother of the kitten. She serves as the storyteller of this story. Partially based on Granny from Looney Tunes, she serves as the legal guardian of the kitten, at least in this story.

Other characters include:

- St. Bernard, a large dog who, along with 2 Labradors, already aid and abet the bedroom, but interfere with the bulldog's meal.

- Labradors - henchmen of the St. Bernard.

- Husky Puppy - a young puppy who also interferes by offering the bulldog some beer.

- Homeowner - the owner the house, who dislikes the bulldog, and is often a bully, yet a foil. His design is based on Jonesy Garcia from 6teen, albeit, with lighter skin and brown hair. He does not speak. He is the tertiary antagonist.

 Further info

Recently, Jordan had thought of having Tinny and the bulldog, appear in a spinoff series of comics, with the bulldog having a name. Tinny, much like other recurring J.T. Love Industries-based characters, such as Lanny, Lil' Honker, and The Three Foxes, would appear by himself, or with other dog foes, or even a bird. But that is another story.

Overall, this won't be the last time Jordan comes up with ideas based on a book, fairy tale or fables. This is to ensure that all original/spinoff ideas are set during a certain time, universe or even reality. It kinda shows you that everything has a wild, pure imagination.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate this.
